What courses are available, in brief?

BUSINESS ENGLISH

Purpose To teach delegates to write clearly and concisely with correct grammar, punctuation and spelling, and using an appropriate style and tone.
Audience All those who need to improve their use of Business English

WRITING BUSINESS LETTERS

Purpose To teach delegates to write business letters and e-mails that get results.
Audience All staff who need to improve their letter-writing skills.

REPORT WRITING

Purpose To teach delegates to write clear and effective reports that managers and colleagues WANT to read.
Audience All staff who need to improve their report-writing skills.

TAKING AND WRITING MINUTES

Purpose To teach delegates to record the proceedings of meetings in the form of minutes.
Audience All staff who are required to take notes at meetings or produce minutes.

EFFICIENT READING

Purpose To teach delegates to read more efficiently, increasing both speed and retention.
Audience Anyone who needs to improve their reading efficiency and is prepared to work hard to achieve it.

FINANCE AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Purpose To demystify accounting so that delegates can understand basic business accounting terms and activities.
Audience Non-financial staff who need to understand basic finance.

FINANCE FOR NON-FINANCIAL MANAGERS

Purpose To demystify accounting and finance so that delegates can understand basic business accounts and carry out activities such as budgeting, financial appraisals and cash flow forecasting.
Audience This course can be tailored for many different groups of people, from junior staff joining an accounts department to managers with responsibility for a department's budget.

How much does a course cost?

  • In-house (within Sussex): £650 per day plus expenses
  • In-house (outside Sussex): £850 per day plus expenses
  • Open (within Sussex): £175 per delegate per day

How long does a course last?

All of the courses above are one-day courses (unless otherwise agreed with the client) except Finance for Non-Financial Managers, which is a two-day course.

How many delegates per course?

Limited to 12 per course to maximise individual attention and feedback.

Where are courses held?

  • In-house: client's premises
  • Open: currently using venues in East Sussex and West Sussex.

How is course material provided?

  • In house: clients receive master copy of handouts by email and make up the delegate packs themselves. Individual packs can be made up at an additional charge.
  • Open: delegate packs are provided by Julie Butler.

  • In-house: clients provide training room and all equipment at their cost and risk
  • Open: provided by Julie Butler.
